ALEX WANTED BY PREM CLUB

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that the club has received an offer from an unnamed Premier League club for defender Alex. Alex has been outcast from the team recently along with Nicolas Anelka.

Chelsea also accepted the transfer request from the Brazilian defender. Nicolas Anelka has already been sold to the Chinese club earlier in the transfer window and it seems that Alex will be soon following suit. Both Nicolas Anelka and Alex had been banished from the training ground and from the car park after their transfer request had been accepted.

Up until now, there has been no interest in the Brazilian defender Alex. Just when it was thought that Alex would be willing to move to his home country in order to secure a club, manager Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that a Premier League club has shown interest in the player. Even though he refused to reveal the identity of the club, it is thought to be none other than their arch rivals QPR. QPR have been extremely open about their ambitions in this January transfer window. The appointment of former Fulham and Manchester City manager Mark Hughes along with a reported transfer budget of £ 20 million all seems to suggest that they will be one of the clubs interested in Alex, who has a wealth of Premier League experience.

“We have respected Alex’s transfer request so the market’s open for him. We’re just trying to reach the level of proposal we think is good for the player. Nothing has happened up to now, but we’ll listen to all offers. We’ll present anything to the player. He has to make a decision. He has generated interest from a lot of clubs,” Villas-Boas said ahead of the weekend’s match with Sunderland. Alex could cost around £ 5 million.
