COsta and Fabregas standing out for Chelsea

Chelsea is currently at the top of the Premier League with a total of 22 points collected out of the 8 matches which have been played so far. The team of Jose Mourinho is undefeated and is favorites on taking the Premier League title away from the current champions Manchester City who are 5 points behind.

The arrival of Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa to the squad has given Chelsea a huge boost as those players are continuously linking up together, scoring goals and just helping out their teammates in securing positive results.

Ever since arriving to Stamford Bridge, Fabregas and Costa are the standout players in the squad of Jose Mourinho and they have even been nominated on a number of occasions for the Premier League player of the Month awards despite having made less than 10 league appearances for Chelsea.

Some players need to adapt to a new club or a new league but it seems like Costa and Fabregas don’t as they are steadily making sublime performances.

Despite having a star studded team of players and being at the top of the Premier League, Jose Mourinho believes that the race for the English title is far from over.

“If we were in another league I would say immediately yes [we will win the league], but in the Premier League the only thing I can say is we can do it. In the Premier League it’s difficult to say we are going to do it. There is a long way to go and there are very difficult games in front of us, so I don’t want to say that’’ Mourinho said as he spoke during a press conference.

There are other leagues which are less competitive and usually only have 2 or 3 clubs which have a realistic chance on winning the title and this is the case of the German league, Bundesliga.

In the previous season of the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich won the league in record time and collected a total of 90 points meanwhile their closest competitors was Borussia Dortmund which only managed on securing 71 points. This is a huge difference of 19 points.

The Premier League on the other hand was tightly disputed by Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea with 2 points being the difference against each team.
