KANTE, JORGINHO DESERVE BALLON D’OR AWARD

Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has drummed up support for compatriot N’GoloKante and Jorginho as the race to win the BallonD’or Award for this season hots up. Frenchman Evra talked about the possibility of the two Chelsea players winning the award for the best player in the world in a chat with the Daily Mail as he confessed that he’s tired of Messi winning the award.

Evra is not certain that Messi has done enough to win the BallonD’or Award after failing to win the Champions League and the La Liga titles at Barcelona last season though he acknowledged his Copa America tournament win with the Argentine national team.

Ex-French international Evra stated that the duo of Kante and Jorginho deserves it after they played their parts in winning a second Champions League title for Chelsea last season. Chelsea are the reigning Champions League winners after they saw off Premier League rivals Manchester City in the final. German international Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the game off the assist from England international Mason Mount as Chelsea beat Manchester City 1-0 to win the competition for the first time in nine years.

French national team midfielder Kante was named the man-of-the-match for the Champions League final in addition to winning the accolade in the each of the two semi-final games against Real Madrid. Kante didn’t have the best of times with the French team at the Euro 2020 tournament as they were beaten on penalties by Switzerland in the round of 16 after the two nations played out a 3-3 draw.

While Kante didn’t achieve much with France at the Euro 2020 tournament, Jorginho was able to play an important role in the Italian midfield on the way to winning the tournament. The Italians saw off England in the final via penalties to win the Euro 2020 tournament.
