Chelsea have failed to lure Haaland who’s their top transfer target for the central striker role to Stamford Bridge and have opted to switch focus to Lukaku. Belgian international Lukaku was at Chelsea before he left to join fellow Premier League team Everton.

Inter Milan hitman Lukakuwas farmed out on loan from Chelsea to clubs such as Stoke City, West Brom and Everton before a £28m permanent deal to Goodison Park was negotiated for him in 2014. Chelsea tried and failed to re-sign him three years later.

Thomas Tuchel led Chelsea to the Champions League title last season and he’s keen to strengthen his squad with a new striker. Recent reports said that Lukakuhas made a u-turn on a return to Chelsea after speaking with Tuchel and that he wants to go back to complete an unfinished business in West London.

Earlier this summer, the Belgian international made the decision to stay at the San Siro after speaking with new Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi. There had been reports over his future at San Siro when former manager Antonio Conte left shortly after winning the league at the end of last season.

Chelsea are keen on bringing Lukaku back to the club and his agent, Federico Pastorello is also pushing for the transfer to happen.

It was established earlier that Chelsea might need to lose the services of two players for the Lukaku deal to happen. According to The Independent, Inter Milan are open to a swap deal involving two players. The Nerazzuri are said to be interested in fullbacks DavideZappacosta and Marcos Alonso.
